I Love My Mixed Tapes from Acorn, but CDs? Even better. Work is completely killing me right now, but at least I have some good experimental results. That is so hard to believe that really, a part of me doesn't believe it at all. Oh well. However, there is one thing that I must write about, and that is the package I received in the mail yesterday. It was a CD from Acorn! You have no idea what this means to me, so I'll tell you. Acorn used to make mixed tapes for me quite frequently. I think I have received about eight total, but one of them got lost to an ex-boyfriend. That pissed me off. But anyway, these mixed tapes were awesome. Not only were they decorated well, with awesome titles and side names, but the music was always very good. Yes, even the one that she said was the worst ever, with bad music from the 80's. Well, that tape has some Traveling Wilbury's on it, and it fucking rocks. Okay, I admit, there is a Tiffany song, but come on, we all have room for a little nostalgia. Besides, if you don't like it you can always fast forward. Now come the sad part. My stereo broke a long timee ago, and now I'm using one that just has a CD player, no tape player. The only way I can listen to tapes now is on a walkman. My plan is to slowly acquire all of these songs on the mixed tapes and recreate them on CD, even though I will lose the artwork, I suppose. But I can scan it in! Yes! One song on my new CD is Suzanne Vega's "You Make a Really Good Girl." I'm not sure if that is the exact title, but it doesn't matter. I love this song. It was acorn's love ballad to me, or at least that is how I always thought of it. Platonic love, ya pervs. Best friend love. Thank you for making my day Acorn. Okay, gotta get to work! |
