Broken Arm and Broken Bureaucracies Azaya broke her arm on Sunday, fracturing both her radius and her ulna. She is now in a cast up past her elbow. My heart goes out to her; she has had a lot of pain. She was rather amusing on the drugs they gave her, morphine and ketamine. When we tried to drop her off at school today, they wouldn't let her in because she didn't have a note from the doctor saying what she can and can't do. And they also used the name on her birth certificate, not her legal name that we put on all of the paperwork. Very annoying. I hate the public education system. This is her first year there, and after 10 minutes at the school I already hated it. I hate how you can't just talk to a person, have that person understand what you are saying, and have a discussion that results in logical decisions being made. Instead, you have to engage this bureaucracy that is totally impersonal and illogical. Yuck yuck yuck. I was not happy at all, but at Mike's reminding I didn't bite anyone's head off. After all, they are just doing their job. *sigh* |
