Peet's Coffee Review There is a woman who is a regular here at Peet's. She came in and ordered an entire bag full of pastries and some coffee. I couldn't imagine what it must be like to be able to afford to buy such expensive pastries without a care. We always seem to try to go as cheaply as possible, and quality sucks. The pastries are very good here, though. I had the apple tart day before yesterday, and it was so good. The pumpkin bread is delicious. I'm about to try the lowfat morning glory muffin. It has coconut and pineapple. I can't decide if I like it yet. It's okay, but I'm not that into tropical muffins. The pastries will fill you up in such a good way and when combined with the whole milk in the coffee, the meal is complete. Oh, heaven! Peet's will actually give you mugs when you order "for here." And a plate for your muffin. It is not always consistent; one time I did get a paper cup, and another time a paper bag, but it was easily rectified. Free internet. Sometimes it's faster than others, but it's there! The staff is so friendly and cool. One guy, who is also friendly and cool, has kind of crazy blond hair. Later I found a hair just like his in my drink. I pulled it out and drank it anyway. The guy just doesn't seem very dirty. No, okay, it's gross. But accidents happen, and I don't want to go to a place with hairnets. The bathroom is pretty clean, the cleanest coffee shop bathroom I've seen in a long time. And you don't have to ask for a key. Those keys I fear are covered in the germs of the unwashed bathroom going public, and it's no fun announcing to someone that you now have to go shit. The tables aren't always kept clean, but it's not impossible usually to get a clean spot. Classical music, not too loud. I could put in my headphones and not have to kill my eardrums competing, or I can leave off my headphones and not get disturbed by the atrocious music, which happens at Calle Vista. (I really dislike that place now.) Oh, and one more very tempting thing about Peet's? The free samples. I've had good sized Freddo's as well as pumpkin bread. I was thinking about getting a new pair of workout shoes, because the pair I have cause me pain, and I was reading the information on the Nike + nano shoes. I have the nano, and if the shoes are under $50 then I might go for it. But this part, I don't know: "lets you activate, at the click of the Center button, your PowerSongthe one that gets you past the wall." That is so corny! |
